ABOUT VICTOR DIALI

For over 15 years Victor Diali has been investing his life into helping people succeed at work and at home. He has been called upon as a trainer by organisations of various sizes in almost all sectors of the economy. Victor has been described as one of the most effective corporate trainers to have come out of Africa. One of Victor's driving philosophies is that motivation is the key to every human action. Every human being does things for a reason. Victor believes that for desired change to happen in any individual or group there must be motivation. As a result of this he uses a training technique which he calls "MOTIVated Learning". MOTIVated Learning is simply a method utilising various motivational tools to ensure learners acquire knowledge powerful enough to influence action and thereby create lasting change.

Most training programmes lack elements of motivation and inspiration and so are usually not as effective as they could be. Victor Diali is committed to changing this. Victor's smooth and uniquely motivating style of training has endeared him to his students everywhere he has taught. Over 5,000 individuals, including professionals from diverse backgrounds and representing over 300 organisations from across Africa, have benefited, at some point in their careers, from the immense depth of knowledge and breadth of skill of this great trainer. Victor Diali has been trained and certified by the Center for Management Development, CMD, the official trainer-certifying organisation in Nigeria. His expertise cuts across 4 core areas:

• Self Mastery

• Sales Mastery

• Leadership Mastery

• Team Building

Career

Victor started his career as a Computer Network Engineer at the United Bank for Africa PLC (UBA) right after his National Youth Service in 1996. He studied Computer Science and Engineering at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology from where he graduated as the department’s best student in 1995 winning the University prize as well as the UTC prize for best student in his department.

In 1998, while working as a trainer for NCR Nigeria PLC, Victor became one of the first five Microsoft Certified Trainers in Nigeria and one of the earliest in Africa. For two years after that Victor taught IT certification courses including the prestigious MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), in several countries across Africa. He also trained professionals on Selling Skills courses.

In 2000, Compaq West Africa invited Victor to join the company as its pioneer Training Manager.  While there Victor set up the first Compaq training division and went on to train several hundred engineers in both technical and sales certifications. During his time as a Training manager and instructor, Victor also acquired the prestigious Authorised Compaq Instructor certification. He is currently the only Authorised HP Instructor in West Africa. Victor had a major influence on the Nigerian IT industry through the Compaq training he provided, which culminated in his winning the prestigious Compaq West Africa Super Achiever Award in 2001.  This was a worthy recognition of his pioneering and exceptional work in training Nigerian IT engineers. After a couple of years he moved out of the training room to manage Compaq’s Channel and Warranty Division. Following the merger of Compaq and Hewlett Packard, Victor decided to take up a sales position in the new company, becoming HP’s first ever Imaging and Printing Sales Manager for West Africa, covering Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia. A few years after that, he became the West Africa District Manager for the Solutions Partner Organisation (SPO) at HP, overseeing HP’s West Africa partner business and consistently delivering a sales quota of almost 80 million USD per annum.

In August 2008, Microsoft invited Victor to join them as Distribution Manager for Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.  The desire to make impact by helping people discover their purpose, develop their potential and perform exceptionally moved upon Victor so strongly that he started nursing a desire to launch out working full time to build and live his dream.

The Turning Point

The turning point for Victor came through a scary circumstance. On November 22, 2009, after about 5 weeks of international travel, Victor was on his way to church with his family. At about 6.20am, his black, tinted, Infiniti SUV was double-crossed by a rickety-looking car. About 6 young men came out shooting into the air with machine guns. Victor was car-jacked and driven away at break-neck speed. Within 20 minutes, his wife had been pushed out of the moving vehicle and he had been shot in the side and left to die in some bushes by the side of an expressway while the robbers made away with his SUV. In that state, Victor had only one thing on his mind “I will not die. I cannot die. I have not yet fulfilled my purpose in life. I must not add to the riches of the graveyard”. Right there Victor knew that if he could survive that trauma there was one major decision he had to take. That decision would be to go all out and fulfil his life’s purpose. By the sheer grace of God, Victor survived the bullet that tore through his side, missing his heart, piercing his lung and puncturing his lower arm muscle. He underwent some surgery and recovered well. After recovering and returning to his job at Microsoft Nigeria for a few months Victor decided to make good his decision. He left Microsoft in April, 2010 after 3 months’ notice. He now lives his life sharing his knowledge, experience, skills and passion with people all across Africa. Victor is well balanced emotionally, and by virtue of his life’s experiences has what it takes to motivate and inspire people to go beyond their limitations to achieve great things for their companies and personal lives.  He now travels across Africa sharing his message of hope, faith and love with professionals and organisations.

Volunteering

Throughout Victor’s career he has constantly given back to the society through his various volunteer endeavours.  He volunteers regularly as Trainer, Seminar Facilitator and Mentor for FATE Foundation, a Non-profit organisation providing business consulting and training for Small and Medium Businesses in Nigeria. In his community and church (Winners Chapel, Canaanland) he also volunteers as a District Pastor and receives a lot of invitations to speak at Church seminars.

Outside his regular work Victor enjoys reading, singing, swimming, listening to audio books, regular exercise and dancing salsa. He is also a prolific Executive Master of Ceremonies, which he executes with a unique style spiced with rib-cracking comedy. Many churches, schools, and corporate organisations in many sectors of the economy have at some point had the privilege of experiencing the unique, motivating and multifaceted abilities of Victor Diali. Victor lives with his wife and beautiful daughter in the ever-bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria.
